To create the original campus buildings, College Prep recycled old Oakland Unified School District portables—many are still in use today. The School started replacing these aging structures a decade ago. The Hill Project continues the replacement process and makes other improvements to the heart of the campus.
College Prep is at the right size for its campus and academic program—this isn’t about growing enrollment. This is about replacing worn out buildings and improving the educational experience for our students and teachers.
The Hill Project is funded through philanthropic contributions. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of current and past parents, alumni, grandparents, friends of the school, and foundations who have made gifts in the quiet phase of fundraising. We now invite all members of the College Prep community to join in supporting this transformational moment for our school.
College Prep cares deeply about neighbor relations. We have been in contact with those who live within 300 feet of the campus since the inception of The Hill Project and will continue to do so throughout construction via our newsletter, Neighbor Notes.
