applied learning

College Prep prepares students to make a positive difference, encouraging engagement in a full array of school activities, and in service and learning opportunities in the broader world.
There are many ways for students to take their learning out of the traditional classroom.
  • The school’s two Applied Studies courses combine on-campus coursework with full-time, six-week internships in laboratories and non-profit service organizations.
  • College Prep is a founding member of The Bay Area BlendEd Consortium, a group of seven schools that combine face-to-face and online instruction while making use of the Bay Area’s many resources.
  • Independent study is an option for seniors who want to take a deep dive into a subject not covered by the curriculum.
  • Experiential, mixed grade Intraterm courses for that take an immersive deep dive into a wide range of activities for one week every spring.
