Stanford University, PhD

What did you study in college?
Italian, French, and Comparative Literature.

What was your pathway to teaching?
My mom and grandmother were both teachers, so I saw early on how rewarding it could be. I taught ESL during summers, and took a gap year before college to teach full-time while living with my grandparents in rural Italy.

I’ve always loved learning something new and sharing it with others—whether at the dinner table or in seminar. Grad school let me keep doing both, and I’m grateful to continue that work here at College Prep.

How do you bring your personal passions into the classroom?
I bring sincere curiosity and enthusiasm into my teaching. Sharing something meaningful—whether a text or an idea—is powerful.
I encourage students to find connections between texts, readers, and perspectives. That’s the core of what I do: helping students bridge differences and deepen understanding through language and story.

What do you love about teaching College Prep students?
I love how students meet every challenge with creativity and insight. Whether it’s a poetic reply in classical meter, a sculpture reinterpreting a short story, or a podcast inspired by personal experience—their responses are always thoughtful and surprising.

What are your favorite College Prep traditions?
Talent shows and Common Classroom. I love the thrill of discovering hidden talents—especially when a student suddenly belts out a song I never expected!

What's something most people don't know about you?
I played (American) football for Cambridge University. We weren’t exactly dominant.

If you could make an everyday activity into an Olympic sport, what would you win a medal in?
Cat-wrangling.
