Education: University of Puget Sound, BA

What did you study in college?
Sociology.

What was your pathway to teaching?
I never saw myself as a teacher, but I’ve worked with youth in many roles—from outdoor education to nonprofit communications to wellness centers. My last job supporting student wellness and peer educators helped me realize how much I valued being in schools. I also wanted to merge my social justice work with education—then I found this role at CPS.

How do you bring your personal passions into the classroom?
I’m passionate about every topic we cover in Wellness & Belonging—identity, power, harm reduction, justice. I love normalizing taboo or awkward conversations and helping students feel informed and empowered.

I also love crafts—collaging, glitter, making stuff—so I add creativity to the class wherever I can.

What do you love about teaching College Prep students?
CPS students are passionate and multi-talented. One week I might see a student lead wellness class, act in a play, and explain a math concept I don’t understand.

Their feedback has shaped my class in so many meaningful ways—and made me a better teacher.

What is your favorite College Prep tradition?
Student-led spaces: club meetings, Common Classroom, and especially queer book club. I also love Choreo—it’s a joyful, creative, and brave performance space that inspires me every year.

What's something most people don't know about you?
I’m a proud member of Bachelor Nation and once attended a live taping of The Golden Bachelorette. It was glorious.

If you could make an everyday activity into an Olympic sport, what would you win a medal in?
I have a near-photographic memory of where all my stuff is. Also: I’m great at finding other people’s lost things.
